I’m a doer, a task checker! I love my DONE check-boxes but “done” doesn’t happen without a plan and sometimes a little pain….
Plans provide frameworks, yet we have to remain flexible in its execution to navigate through some of the pain – Is it worth it?
Question to Clarify your direction: What if I try and it doesn’t…. What if I try and I DO!
6 kids later my control cynicism has exchanged places with flexibility. How about you?
Spaces
Define what rooms are used for which. Include symbols of those mindful reminders that stimulate growth in that area.
Examples:
- Bedroom– lighting, bedding, furniture
- Kitchen– table for eating
- Library/study room– bookshelves, chairs, lighting
Schedules | Routines
Where, how, and when is everyone getting to their places and purposes for the day?
- Morning routine– Wake up early, hygiene, breakfast, get ready for the day
- Daytime routine– Block out your day in hours (include a move and breathe break in between), Use a planner (on the refrigerator and/or use Brendon Burchard’s “The High Performance Habits Planner”), use timers
- Nighttime routine– Dinner (weekly plan of what meals are), devotions (family time), plan out the next day (check in with all kids and your partner), sleep (same every day)
Systems & Strategies
Table talk– High and low of the day (learn/love/lost)
Family devotionals
- Mon- missionaries
- Tues – friends & family
- Wed- world news
- Thur- friends & kids
- Sund- scripture memorization
Family chores– everyone has a job/role (varies)
