Under normal conditions, we recommend that each set of two PF-2 filters be replaced after approx. 1,000 gallons. If you have a two filter Big Berkey and you use 5 gallons of water per day, then PF-2 filters should be replaced after (1,000/5), or 200 days, so about every 6 months.
