Movement: Pilates
Pilates is the perfect way to strengthen and lengthen from the inside out.
Movement that connects intention of engagement with intelligent exercise. Rather than tension, we engage the intention of strength found in length and flexibility in the function of flow.
It is the movement of energy and elongation with the power of the breath, brain and body working together to create simple success.
EXERCISES:
You will need a mat, towel and a wide space to twist, kick and move.
- Seated ½ Roll Back: feet on ground, table top legs, straight legs kick up, add raised arms, add leg lower pulses.
- Oblique ½ Roll Back Twist: sweep arm down and reach back, add full circle reach, reverse full circle reach, put circles together
- Spine Twists: twist pulses with hands-on shoulders, add 1 arm reaching forward, add both arms reaching out, keep both arms out
- Full Roll Up: full roll down & up, add hands on forehead, add leg catch
- Leg Circles: on back with small single leg circles, reverse circle direction, add arms reaching up, put circles together
- Scissors: on back with tabletop legs, 1 knee and other leg straight in/out switches, double leg in/outs, straight leg scissors, criss cross elbow to opposite knee
